Creating a garden that can supply summer salads and winter vegetables can be difficult when under the thumb of water companies and hose pipe bans. Although the African community rely on tapping into underwater reservoirs for their supply, they understand more than most how precious a commodity such as water is.
Gardeners in the west do not rely on water management for survival, but by simply taking inspiration from farmers in dry areas, it is possible to appreciate the fine balance of nature. Responsible use of the world's resources is becoming a more prominent topic of conversation, and watering the garden efficiently will become just as important as household recycling.
