If you are looking for a hearty, exotic plant to complete your garden, the Tropical Hydrangea is perfect. It grows quickly into a tree that can reach a height of 15 feet, but can be clipped and formed into a small bush to suit a more modest planting setting. Pruning this hydrangea is best at times when its flowers fall off in spring and early autumn. Even though the plants flowers will die, they will often cling to the stem for quite some time afterwords. If you prefer the flourishing look for your hydrangea, you can prune dead and dying flowers before the plant sheds them itself.

The Tropical Hydrangea is rather customizable, and its size and shape can be altered or encouraged to suit a garden of any size or layout. It responds favorably to pruning, and can be clipped extensively without becoming damaged. When raised in a warm and humid area, this hydrangea will keep its foliage all the way down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This plant requires a lot of sunlight, fertilization, and water to flourish at its finest. Its first flowering season is at the start of the year, and the blossoms will bloom for over a month.

The flowers of the Tropical Hydrangea are a bright pink color and measure about two inches in diameter, while their bracts can measure up to two and one half inches in length. This hydrangea flowers in winter, with its little pink blossoms decorating the entire plant. It adds a lovely, colorful decoration to the otherwise dull browns of the colder months. Its lovely perfume will also add a nice, fragrant touch to the chilly season. In a garden, this hydrangea looks very attractive when planted next to other tropical flora, and its lovely pink blossoms can be accented by surrounding it with types of vegetation that produce white flowers.

It is suggested that a singular Tropical Hydrangea plant be divided, as it will grow several canes that can survive better on their own than on the original plant. When taking portions of your hydrangea for replanting, do so as if you were moving any other bush or plant from one location to another. It is very similar, despite the fact that you are only moving one part of the original plant in lieu of the entire tree or shrub. Whether you are installing hydrangeas you have just acquired or replanting hydrangeas you have maintained for some time, this process will be effective.

When you make your next plant-shopping excursion, whether it is to a shop in your area or on the Internet, a Tropical Hydrangea is a good option for adding that special, exotic touch to your garden. Its bright pink blossoms will lend a prominent accent to your garden or patio through all seasons. Its scent will also provide a different element to your plant collection. If you plan to grow your hydrangea in a temperate region it will thrive naturally, but your care regimen can be adjusted to support it even if not!
